Interview with Colette from It's Always Summer | Part 1: Sugaring

Hi everyone! I am excited to bring you something a little different but very helpful.

I've learned about an alternative to Waxing, a method called Sugaring! You will love this, let's get into what I've learned from the lovely Colette (Owner of It's Always Summer). This is a great article for everyone, so share with your boyfriends, husbands, etc.!

This is Part 1 of two topics discussed, so please make sure to read Part 2 as well.

Why sugaring over waxing?
Soft or hard wax products are very different from Sugaring products. Being Sugared requires an entirely different mind-set and approach from waxing. For instance, did you know…

Waxing products for legs, faces and bodies adhere to skin cells...
This is one of the major differences between sugaring and waxing. Wax products are made of resins which adhere to live skin cells. Because wax sticks to any surface it is applied to, pulling it away causes unwarranted discomfort.

Professional sugaring products never adhere to live skin cells on bodies, faces, or legs. Therefore, when it is removed, it only gently exfoliates dead skin cells, leaving behind fresh glowing skin on. Additionally, because sugaring paste is all natural and water soluble, it can be easily rinsed away if it is accidentally flicked on a client’s clothes or on the massage table.

Waxing faces, legs or other areas pulls hair against its natural direction of growth…
With waxing, you remove the hair against the natural direction of growth causing undue levels of pain and breakage of hair. With Alexandria Professional's sugaring method, you only remove the hair in the natural direction of the hair growth. Plus, through the Alexandria Pro sugaring application technique, the sugar paste seeps into the hair follicle. This helps lubricate the hair root regardless of whether it’s on the legs or anywhere else on your body.

The healthy difference between all natural sugaring versus chemicals for waxing legs and bodies…
Professional Sugaring Paste is all natural. In fact, the only ingredients are pure sugar, water and
lemon. That’s it. It’s even edible and delicious, and it’s a wonderful treatment for the skin.
Most products used for waxing are made from petroleum based resins and chemicals making them prone to contamination or cross contamination. With Sugaring, your ball of sugar is only used on you and then disposed of.

No risk of burning sensitive skin areas with sugaring…
Waxing requires hot wax which risks burning sensitive skin. There’s just no way around that. While women are used to this risk, men are often intimidated by the idea of hot wax on their chest, legs, face, or back…

Sugaring is done at body temperature. There’s no need for heat. Alexandria Professional advanced sugaring treatment adheres to the hair, not the skin, and lubricates the root for easier removal from the follicle. Combined with the hair removal in the natural direction of growth, sugaring means a much more comfortable experience for everyone.

What sugaring will and will not do…

Sugaring will help:
• eliminate ingrown hairs
• prevent new ingrown hairs
• extract all hair colors and textures
• successfully treat all skin types and colors
• improve the skin tone and texture

Sugaring will not:
• burn the skin
• damage the dermal cells
• “pit” the delicate facial skin cells
• scar the follicle mouth or surrounding area
• promote cross contamination
